The Atlanta Jazz Society seeks to establish Atlanta as the Jazz capital of the Atlantic Southeast through American Classical Music education (Jazz), awareness, and preservation.

Disciplinary problems are reduced in school systems which have arts programs (Arts, Education and Americans 1980).
Research indicates that reading music can improve reading language abilities in slow young learners (Tucker 1981).
The Atlanta Jazz Society, Inc. (AJS), established February 12, 2007, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization,. currently located in Atlanta, Georgia. The AJS organization's intent is to specialize in the preservation and promotion of Jazz music through education and awareness. The Atlanta Jazz Society, Inc. works to enhance the quality of entertainment for individuals who seek only the best Jazz Music entertainment.
When decisions affecting Jazz Music and Jazz Entertainment administration are made, it is the business of AJS to understand all the issues involved. AJS is bringing together the interests of those who support Jazz Music in all of its forms, those who work in the art form, those who promote and cultivate a loyal fan base, and those who supply them with goods and services.
